I do not recommend buying a home from Kirbor Homes. We purchased what was supposed to be our dream home on Sanderson Road on 6/13/2025. It has turned into a nightmare. We moved in and my husband who is a Master-chief in the Navy, deployed 5 days after getting us moved in. These homes are not quality well built homes.In a span of 16 days our AC had to be ripped out and replaced! The AC replacement team damaged our beautiful wood stairs. Now those have to be fixed. The new AC lasted 6 days before breaking again.We kept blowing a breaker every time we used the microwave and the stove at the same time. The breaker had to be replaced.My upstairs master shower started leaking and caused water damage and mold to the floor, trim and drywall. Due to them not properly caulking shower. The builder or sub-contractor put several holes in my septic drain line in my other master bath to hang the closet shelves in the linen closet. This caused several holes in my septic drain line that caused mold, mildew, urine, feces and gray water to come out of the drywall in the linen closet . This flooded our bathroom causing significant water damage and toxic mold. A large mice infestation was discovered by the mitigation team when removing the drywall from the water damage. Even when they repaired the damaged pipe, I had to babysit them and call them back to secure the pipe to the board so it doesn’t leak again from wiggle due to the two boots they had to put on it. Any reputable plumber would know this needed to be done.We didn’t even have faucets the matched the lighting. They put in nickel lights with chrome faucets. It looks terrible. There were no mirrors, towel bars or toilet paper holders in any of the bathrooms.Per contract we were promised a brand new fridge. They delivered us a severely damaged one with a broken shelf and dents in all the doors.They have fixed the AC. Vince was nice enough to bring out a portable unit that the neighbor and I share cause our AC’s keep going out. Which was kind of him. However, it is absolutely ridiculous that there has to be a community AC unit and these brand new AC units keep breaking. The breaker was fixed and the mice problem is being treated. However, both my master bathrooms are still ripped apart. My stairs and drywall have not been fixed nor have we received the new un -damaged fridge we were promised. I have one working shower in a 3 bathroom house and we haven’t even lived there for a month yet. This is wrong on so many levels. No one should have to deal with these things when buying a brand new home. As if this deployment wasn’t hard enough I’m stuck dealing with this disaster alone cause my husband is deployed. Run, do not buy a Kirbor home.. Kirbor homes does not care about the build quality or the home buyer. Everything is done as cheaply as possible. Everything you say gets turned around and manipulated. There has been absolutely no accountability or apology from Kirbor Homes in Sanderson Estates for what they put us through. They have not even tried to make it up to us in anyway. So, I’m left with no other choice but to write this review so no one else has to go through what we have.
After a few rounds back and forth we were able to meet and get all issues resolved or made right. It was a process, as is the entire home building process. In final I would say that from May of 2022 until now, June of 2024, overall has been a great experience with Kirbor. Joy is truly a champ and went to bat for us more than once. I would still recommend Kirbor as a better than standard builder and would choose them again if that was ever a decision to be made. My one piece of advice to anyone involved in any real estate transaction is to get every single item that needs addressed in writing to eliminate any back and forth later down the line.*Update*After living in my home for 1 year. Most things have been great. There was an installation error with the flooring subcontractor that had not been resolved satisfactorily and communication between the builder and their subcontractor has not been great in regard to this issue. Overall I’m happy with my home, but disappointed they are not standing behind their product when I’ve brought this issue up since before closing. They have a higher price tag and would expect a higher level of service when issues arise. Some community features have also not been started or completed and the neighborhood is over 50% completedI am in the process of building a home through Kirbor. I have had the opportunity over the past 10 months to work with Joy Mills, one of their new home consultants and I have had a great experience. Vince has also been great at explaining how and why certain features of my new home are the way they are and how they function. I have also had the pleasure of meet 2 of the construction project managers, Stephen and Cedric and they have been extremely accommodating and I am very happy with how the process has gone. This is my third new construction property and my first from Kirbor and I would recommend them to anyone who is looking for quality workmanship.
