In 2016 we were on our way to an open house and made a wrong turn onto a street that had the most beautiful house that was under construction. We quickly called our realtor and she made arrangements to see the inside the next day. As soon as my husband and I walked in we both knew this was the house we were going to buy and we did! With most houses there are always pros and cons and compromises, but not with this house. California Builders thought of everything and there is nothing we would change. My wife and I hired California Home Builders for a complete remodel of our kitchen, family room, living room, downstairs flooring and master bathroom. From the conception of the project thru completion, I have nothing but praise for the California Home Builders team. We first met Pat Scofield at the Del Mar home show where his portfolio of projects really stood out from the rest. After several meetings with him at our home, I really felt that he had a good grasp of our vision and how we could best achieve it. During this initial phase, Pat also brought in Sean Scofield as our project manager. Sean was able to take our vision, and with his creative ability, bring it to the next level.We could not have asked for a more professional, pleasant and dedicated project manager than Sean. He was with us every step of the way and more than willing to spend whatever time was necessary to ensure that my wife and I were completely satisfied with the end results. His help and advice in picking out finishes, appliances, fixtures, flooring, materials, etc., was greatly appreciated. He came up with unique ideas and design elements that enhanced the finished product and truly exceed our expectations.Overall our project progressed in an orderly fashion. As with many remodeling projects, the scope of the work grew the more we got into it. However, Sean kept the ball moving forward, never getting frazzled with the inevitable issues that arise in a project of this size. He did an awesome job selecting and coordinating the various sub-contractors that were needed on the project. All of the subs were clean, professional, courteous, and very sensitive to the fact that my wife and I were living in the home during the remodel. Needless to say, the quality of their work exceeded our expectationsAfter completion of the project Sean was always just a phone call away to promptly address any issue that might arise. A home remodeling project can be a trying time, but Sean did an excellent job making the process as easy as possible. California Home Builders did a remodel of our home last summer. Our experience was fantastic every step of the way, including the final product which looks fantastic! From day one, our work with Sean was informative, and organized. He made things easy on us. Since that remodel, Sean has come back to the house whenever we've asked him to, to get his advice on other projects. He certainly has gone above and beyond what we would expect. We are happy with the work they did with our remodel, and continue to be pleased with the personal attention since.
