Was in the market for a custom builder to build my forever home. An associate recommended Weston Dean homes in which my wife and I made a visit to their model home in New Braunfels, Texas. It was all smoke and mirrors as they had a "designer" sketch a floorplan on a piece of paper! No formal blueprints or anything of the sort; and charged us over $3200! Two weeks later, an unfortunate life changing event happened which prevented us from moving forward. Spoke to the same representatives at Weston Dean about the situation and understandably asked for a refund. No compassion, sympathy, or even tissue! They refused and simply kept the money! Years later (after bouncing back) I was finally able to build with another custom builder and learned Weston Dean was also building several homes in the neighborhood in which their former customers (including me) were extremely dissatisfied and feel ripped off! Do not entertain building ANYTHING (custom home, dog house, wooden fence, floating shelf) with WESTON DEAN! They do not care about people, not even their workmanship, only the money they make off you!
