If I could give below a 5 I would. Excuse after excuse. Don’t use this company if you ever want anything done. They won’t show up after they tell you they have “you on the schedule” to fix anything. When the house was built we moved in the first day and we had a bucket of spilled paint they just decided to try and wipe up out of the carpet-crunchy brand new carpet they didn’t even tell us-we found on our own. Didn’t want to replace only clean it till we got mad and told them to replace. They will never match your colors right. Stucco was not even close to the sample they showed us-turned blue and they told us we would have to pay to change it. We have had back porch issues which they have came out 3 times just to stare at it and tell us they will fix it back in March 2025 and it’s still not done-which my daughter hit part of the chipped part and flew off her scooter and busted her arm. Which wouldn’t have happened if it would have been fixed like they agreed to have done. Flooring had to be completely ripped out and redone because they put it in wrong. The list goes on. You have to fight with any of them to get anything done and that even doesn’t do it. We have been very nice and understanding about a lot, but excuses after excuses get old. Good luck if you use this company. Hopefully they treat you a heck of a lot better than they treated half of our neighborhood!

When we first moved into our J. Thomas home, what should have been a joyful and exciting chapter in our lives quickly turned into a deeply frustrating experience. The quality of the home fell far short of our expectations, and each warranty claim we submitted was met with resistance, doubt, and at times, outright accusations that we were not being truthful. Rather than receiving support, we felt like we were constantly being questioned . It was a disheartening experience for any new homeowner.
After sharing our concerns publicly on social media with nothing but factual information and a documented timeline, we were finally contacted and offered a path forward. We had also privately reached out to the CEO of the company and were directed to work with Tyler Baxter. When Tyler came to our home, we were able to present our records: detailed documentation of issues, missed opportunities to correct them, and a timeline that clearly showed the pattern of neglect and miscommunication on their end.
Tyler took the time to listen. He was professional, respectful, and empathetic. Together, we developed a plan for how J. Thomas could make things right. The difference in experience from that point forward was night and day. The vendors who were sent to address the problems were professional, efficient, and respectful . This is a reflection of the standard we wish we had experienced from the very beginning.
While we are still out-of-pocket for several issues that should have been addressed before we ever moved in, we do recognize the effort made to correct the situation. For that reason, and that reason alone, we are updating our review from 1 star to 4 stars. This adjustment is solely due to the professionalism and empathy shown by Tyler Baxter and the quality work performed by the vendors who came in to resolve the outstanding issues.

If you're considering purchasing a J. Thomas home, my advice is this: be involved. Ask detailed questions. Follow up frequently during the building process. Be specific about the warranty system, your expectations, and above all , DOCUMENT EVERYTHING. We are grateful for the resolution, but we will never get back the experience that was taken from us. We were robbed of the excitement of moving to a new state, becoming homeowners again, and starting fresh.

J Thomas has proved to be a solid investment for us. We have lived here about 10 months and we have been impressed with their home building product.
Tyler is an excellent leader and representative for J Thomas. Any issues that have come up have been resolved and worked out. We ended up finishing our basement through J Thomas and it has been an excellent finished product.
