Meridian was consistently informative, transparent, and proactive in their communication throughout the entire process. As someone with 25 years of experience in Massachusetts real estate, I can confidently say the quality, craftsmanship, and overall execution of this home surpasses most builders in the state.

The final product reflected not only strong construction standards, but also thoughtful attention to detail and a true understanding of how people live in their homes.

We are overall very happy with the final product of our new home built by Meridian Custom Homes, but the experience getting there was far from what we expected from a luxury home builder.

Communication in the beginning was horrendous — emails and questions often went unanswered for 6–8 weeks. Sadly, the original project manager passed away right before our foundation was poured, but when the new PM, Ryan, stepped in, he was absolutely phenomenal. He completely turned things around and gave us an incredible customer experience (our neighbors say the same as well). We genuinely believe the quality of our finished home is a direct result of Ryan’s oversight and attention to detail. However, many other homeowners we spoke with who had different project managers have expressed concerns about both the quality of finishes and, in some cases, even the structural integrity of their homes.

When we first toured homes and spoke with neighbors, many cautioned us to think very carefully before signing with Meridian, as they were disappointed with the process and lack of communication. Within six months of signing, we understood exactly what they meant and began to regret our decision. Another major disappointment was the lack of options offered during the design and build process for a company with the word “custom” in their name. We were never presented with an upgraded air conditioning package and ended up with a very basic system, when we would have gladly paid for an enhancement. The same issue occurred with our garage doors, which are the cheapest quality imaginable — again, we would have upgraded if given the choice.

Closing day came without even a packet of information about warranties, emergency contacts, or maintenance guidelines. When I reached out to Alex, the owner, he told me they didn’t have one but promised to get me warranty details. More than four months later, I’m still waiting for a response.

Overall, the house itself is beautiful, but the quality of service and consistency of experience do not match their price point or “luxury” branding. If you choose Meridian, you may end up with a beautiful home, but your satisfaction will likely depend on which project manager you work with (ask for Ryan), because the overall quality within the company just is not there.

This was our first experience doing a custom home and are thankful that we had Meridian as our builder. It is easy to see how the design and build process can be overwhelming, but we knew we were in the best hands with Meridian. We moved into our new home last month. We worked with Meridian for over a year and our overall experience has been great.

As previous ground-up construction veterans, we understood and expected the process to involve some changes, that mistakes would be made and that we would probably have some last-minute requests along the way. During the entire process, the Meridian team was great. Every issue and concern we have pointed out to date has been handled to our satisfaction.
