After more than 30 years in the flooring business at Floorz, we’ve worked with hundreds of builders across Middle Tennessee. We’ve seen the good, the bad, and the painfully forgettable. Without a doubt, Superior Custom Homes and Remodeling sits comfortably at the very top.
Led by Steve Nabrotzky and Jonathan Duke, Superior builds luxury custom homes and handles remodels with the kind of care, craftsmanship, and material standards that separate true professionals from mere contractors. Their work reflects intention, and their process reflects respect for the home, for the client, and for every trade involved.

What truly sets Superior apart is that the owners set the tone. Their commitment to quality, responsiveness, and customer service permeates the entire organization. Clients aren’t rushed through a checklist, but rather they’re guided thoughtfully through the entire process, with clarity, transparency, and personal attention. That kind of culture doesn’t happen by accident - it’s built, just like their homes.

We are selective about the builders we work with, and we’re proud to partner with Superior. In a market crowded with options, choosing Superior Custom Homes and Remodeling is always a smart decision. Their name isn’t marketing, it’s a description. They are, quite simply, one of the finest builders in Middle Tennessee.

Built our custom home with Superior in Brentwood, Tennessee in 2023. We love everything about it! Incredible experience, loved the design process, loved meeting with their vendors. We aimed to make the house look like it had always been there. Complete handicap accessibility for our son in a wheelchair. Zero-entry showers, elevator, etc. Built an inside gym and rock climbing wall. 3 years later we are still very pleased with everything.

We hired Superior to build out our attic and turn an empty space into a small music studio, an office, and a gym.

Initial meeting: We needed to find a company to work with. We had done a few smaller things in the house so we had an "incumbent" contractor, and they were one of the companies that quoted the attic project. But, doing our due diligence, we contacted 3-4 others to make sure we were on the right track. Superior Custom Homes (Brentwood, TN) was one of the firms that we contacted, and the owner, Chris Duncan, came to see us.

I had submitted a basic scope of the size of the project and what we were looking for, so he had a good idea of the direction we were looking. He came in and immediately connected by just chatting it up, complimenting our house and it's builder (a competitor), and just making conversation. Then we got to work talking about the attic -- he listened to what we wanted, but didn't just take it at face value. Instead, he gave recommendations, pointed out things that we wouldn't have thought of, and overall had a great sense of what we wanted and how to get there.

Compared to others, Chris was a tier above. Some other reps just came in, poked around, didn't ask a lot, and more or less said "we can do what you drew up." I consider myself fairly clever, but I'm no designer or architect. If you say what we put together is perfect, I'm concerned.

After getting four quotes, we chose Superior. They weren't the cheapest of the bunch but we FELT comfortable with them and how we'd work together.

Project manager: Our project manager, Randy Wills, went above and beyond the entire project. He was here almost every day over the 6-month project, definitely when there were workers here, and even times when they weren't so he could check how they did. This is the guy you want on your project: he'd show up in the morning (always 10-15 min early and wait in his truck so he could walk up to the door at 8), and tell me something like "I was awake last night thinking about that so-and-so in your hallway and how we can work around the issue" or whatever. I love that!

Since we were not material experts, he recommended items that weren't as expensive but just as good. He'd also let us know if he thought we really needed to make a certain decision. We felt infinitely comfortable with Randy, knowing that he'd take care of us and make sure the project turned out right.

The main takeaway was the experience. Could another company have done this cheaper, faster? Possibly. But we had a 100% positive experience and I would recommend them every day of the week. It's not just the product, the price, the fancy tools. It's the experience that people choose and remember!

These guys are the best.
I hired them in 2023 to build our new home and the process could not have gone more smoothly. One thing I'd like to note is their integrity. If you've ever built a house you know that there are fixed costs (concrete, brick, lumber, trades IE plumbing, electric, etc.) and then there are allowances (countertops, flooring, trim work, etc.). Theoretically the only costs that can fluctuate are the allowances which depend solely on the finishes you choose. However, I got a call from Superior saying that my brick and lumber came in under budget and I would be getting a credit for the difference. I expected this to be for a few thousand dollars. Well, it turns out that it was a 6 figure credit. Keep in mind I'm not able to audit the fixed costs. It's not like the company is obligated to show me receipts. They could have just kept the credit for themselves and I never would've known. But instead they were honest about them and gave me my money back. How many builders/contractors do you think would have done that?
Lastly, my project was a big one. Most companies quoted me 18–24 months from start to finish. With Superior I moved in 13 months after they broke ground to pour the footers.
I'll never build a home with anyone else.

Had a wonderful experience dealing with Alex Glinski and the team at Superior during the construction of our outdoor space. Constant supervision by the team to ensure proper construction and working to keep costs contained. It’s been two years since the project was completed and we have been thrilled with the results.
