My husband and I used Prestige Custom homes to build our home in 2021 and we couldn’t be more pleased with the process, the result and our experience working with both Karl and Katherine.Before building, we interviewed countless builders, selecting Prestige because of the beautiful homes they had built in our neighbourhood and because of the very personal, hands-on approach that Karl took to his work. I wanted a builder who was on site every day and who was willing to guide us through the process – Karl was exactly that.Karl worked very well with our architect and made suggestions that really improved the look and function of our home (ex. window size and placement, the addition of a patio overhang). Karl and Katherine have an eye for detail and excellent design instincts, and we embraced their suggestions on interior and exterior design items.Katherine’s kitchen, bathroom and mudroom designs are functional and elegant (from hardware to paint to fixtures and tile). Karl’s ideas for stairs, banisters, molding and many other selections made during the build allowed us to benefit from his years of experience and eye for detail and long lasting style.Prestige’s team of trades were all excellent. My husband was able to visit the house daily and was always impressed with the teams, their work and their willingness to answer his questions. The framers, mason and painters were beyond excellent. The tile company Prestige partnered with helped me make excellent decisions in a time when I could not go on site to their store and samples had to be shipped to my home.Building through COVID and on a tight budget was not easy and Karl and Katherine were very respectful of our limitations. Where costs were too high, they made suggestions on changes that were equally as beautiful (ex. Tiling a backsplash vs using quartz) or different vendors with different price points. We worked directly with the tradespeople which ensured the process was open, trusting and transparent.Karl understood our urgency to complete as quickly as possible and ensure that the work was always moving forward without delay. Karl communicated very clearly, when selections needed to be made or materials ordered which ensured the build was never impacted by delays in materials.We are so very pleased with our home and would happily work with Prestige Custom Homes again.
