Themes of responsiveness and clarity during the final stages of the process appear frequently.
There’s nothing “Elite” about this company. It’s a clown show masquerading as a builder. My closing was delayed by almost a month because windows, my AC unit and furnace were stolen. How did I find out? Not from Elite, but from the title company. I then had to live in an Airbnb at my cost until we could close. There is a design defect in the ceilings of one of their designs, the Mayfield. My ceiling was fixed by someone three times before someone mentioned the defect. It’s been over a month and they are too busy to fix it. My driveway has a crack that continues to grow. Their policy is that the fix it at 1/4”. I can’t even get them to look at it. I send them pictures with a ruler and still nothing.Save yourself the headache and don’t deal with these people, it’s not worth it.
my parents went in today for help with finding who built their cabinets at their house they just bought. They are the second owners so therefore the employees here did not want to help them. When my parents asked for help on who to contact, they said to go look it up themselves and that they can go ahead and leave now. My dad then asked for help with writing it down on who to contact and they ignored him and walked away. The employee’s tone of voice and attitude was extremely disrespectful and snobby. Unless you dress nice and or plan to have a house made right now, don’t bother visiting or asking for help.
I want to start by saying how grateful I am that our building process is finally behind us. After two long weeks post-closing, we’re beginning to enjoy parts of our new home. That said, this journey has been far from easy. Over the past year, I’ve been let down time and again by issues I never expected, and in hindsight, I wish I had asked more questions along the way.For most people, a home is the single largest investment they’ll ever make. After 13 years in our $139k starter home, my husband John and I were beyond excited to build our dream home and chose Elite based on its reputation for quality and customer care. Unfortunately, our experience didn’t reflect that standard. As a project manager and an engineer, we pay close attention to detail and value craftsmanship. While the design process started strong and the early stages of construction were exciting, the quality of workmanship and oversight quickly became disappointing. Here are just a few examples of our experience:Appliances: Our “premium kitchen” includes luxury pieces paired with low-end, undersized items like the microwave—something we’ll now have to replace.Front Doors: My dream double walnut doors were mistakenly painted black. The “fix” involved painting over them with brown paint, leaving a cheap finish. We eventually hired another company to refinish them correctly.Selections vs. Reality: Several items installed didn’t match what we selected—garage doors, windows, and finishes. Doors were painted instead of ordered in the correct finish, and the difference is noticeable.Painting: The overall paint job throughout the home is sloppy and rushed, not at all reflective of a home in this price range.Master Bathroom: The tile floor has been torn out and redone twice already due to poor workmanship.I could name many more examples—delays, inconsistencies, and careless work—but the bottom line is that the process fell far short of expectations. What should have been a joyful milestone has instead left us feeling disappointed and hesitant to show off our new home.To be fair, I want to acknowledge that our project manager, is doing his best. But one person cannot effectively manage an entire neighborhood of builds. The subcontractors, in particular, need to be held to much higher standards. The few bright spots were the plumbing, cabinetry, and flooring crews, who did great work.In the end, I wanted to love this process and proudly recommend Elite. Instead, my honest review is 2 out of 5 stars. I’m ready to move forward and put this chapter behind me, but I hope my feedback helps improve the experience for future homeowners.
So I am updating my entire review. After some issues I had, Mr. Alex (Warranty Manager) and his boss the VP came to my house. All the issues I was having have been resolved. There was a very concerning lack of communication when I was closing, and the warranty guy said it so fast that I missed 75% of what he said or it was not said at all. The VP and Alex actually listened to me. We spent a good hour talking and the VP said some changes would be made.So here is my updated review:The building process was awesome. Matt was great, told him I’d love a corner lot and he made it happen. The design part my wife and I loved. This is what made our house, OUR HOME. The communication during the build was outstanding. Weekly updates and whenever we wanted to walk through the house, we could easily set that up. It was amazing watching our home being built. I was in the Military and never owned anything more than a car, so this was very special for my Family and I. We had some warranty issues and issues with the warranty rep they sent out with being rude and dismissive, spoke with Alex and everything was taken care of. Had an issue with MSD digging a hole and elite homes said they will replace my sod. We love our home, and we love how professional almost everyone was and has continued to be. The craftsmanship that went into the house is outstanding. The layouts are amazing compared to the other builders that we looked at before making the decision to build with Elite/Arbor homes. I would strongly recommend that if your on a corner lot like me, get the side garage door. Not a lot of houses have it so it makes yours stand out a bit more. Also, get the finished garage, it’s very will worth it. I want to say thank you to everyone who has addressed my concerns. Taking time out of your busy day really makes a difference. Just to talk with you all has put my wife and I at ease. I will gladly send people your way. I know a few looking to build. Also, if you ever get more of the Buffalo trace candles, let me know where to go for those, they smell amazing. Not many people get the chance to watch their home being built from the ground up, it’s truly amazing. See what they have to offer, they have a lot to choose from.Thank you for everything Mr. Alex and to the VP ( I forgot your name, I’m horrible with names). Your kind words and just listening to me made a huge difference. I hope what we discussed is put into motion. And changes weee made.Thank you Elite/Arbor homes for making our dream a reality.
My wife and I went to the Elite Arbor Homes design center in Middletown to design our Arbor Home. We had a wonderful experience. Haley Muller was very friendly and helpful. She explained our options thoroughly and answered all our questions.
