I waited a few months after finishing the remodel before posting this because I wanted to really live with the kitchen. Still love it. MY Home Builders helped us redesign the layout so it actually makes sense — more storage, better flow, no wasted space. The crew was respectful and cleaned up daily which mattered a lot since we were still living in the house. Price was fair for the quality we got. Not the cheapest quote, but definitely worth it. Friends keep asking who did our kitchen.
After talking to a few contractors, MY Home Builders stood out right away because they were straightforward and didn’t overpromise. The remodel took a few weeks, but everything stayed on schedule and there were no surprise costs. Communication was solid the entire time, which I really appreciated. The workmanship is clearly high quality—especially the cabinets and finishes. It feels like a completely new home now.
MY Home Builders handled our kitchen remodel from start to finish, and overall it was a positive experience. Communication was clear, especially when it came to scheduling and inspections. There were a couple of minor delays, but they were upfront about them and didn’t disappear or make excuses. The craftsmanship really shows, especially in the cabinet installation and details around the backsplash. It feels like a kitchen that will last for years, not just something that looks good in photos!
We interviewed a few contractors before choosing MY Home Builders, and I’m really glad we did. From the first meeting, they felt honest and easy to talk to. Our kitchen was outdated and awkward, and they helped us rework the layout so it actually made sense for how we cook and use the space. The crew showed up when they said they would, kept the house clean, and were respectful of our family the whole time. There were a few small changes we asked for along the way, and they handled everything without making it a big deal. The final result looks amazing and completely changed the feel of our home!
Update:MHB reached out to me as they are under new management. I appreciate the time the new ownership took to visit us personally and listen to our concerns. In light of their recent follow-up efforts, I’ve revised my original rating to reflect this work.===================================================We contacted MHB on a referral from a family member who had a good experience with MHB. We did a whole house remodel and addition between 2023-2024.I understand home renovations are stressful, but unfortunately MHB only added to the stress. Not wanting to relive the difficult experience was why writing this review took so long.My main issues throughout the project were the major construction errors and the feeling we had to do much of the project management ourselves (several things needed to be redone when a simple question to us could have prevented that several times). Two big errors on MHBThe architect had incorrect measurements and plans did not match site conditions. No-one recognized that a major structural wall was 1ft off until wall (did not match plans) was up concrete poured and framing complete. This caused additional delays needlessly.MHB decided to put up drywall and paint before putting a finished roof on the house. We had a heavy summer rain storm come through and despite my repeated asking (they assured me it would be fine) when the roof would go up, they did not make it in time and our interior was ruined. Project was delayed several months because of this and crew redid much of the interior work. Both of these errors I believe are unacceptable from a construction company.Examples of pushback (to name a few):- they said we couldn't use wood siding at first- said we couldn't use bifold doors and only sliders, but eventually making the bifolds work- We repeatedly asked and sent examples of window trim, but they were extremely unhelpful ultimately saying it was too late in the process to add that and it would add significant cost. We we were exhausted by this point so opted not to go with this.- they painted underneath eaves without telling us and wanted to charge us more to repaint.- they put window off center on front of the house claiming it couldn't be moved (it was on center on plans), after more pushback they finally fixed.MHB did offer credits, but required us to sign waivers so we declined as the small amount did not make it worth it.Some suggestions to improve:Have all clients fill out a thorough questionnaire (especially for major projects) with all the little details builders know but customers haven't yet considered before any work begins so that things like window trim or reinforcement for a floating bathroom vanity can be discussed well before it's too late. Ask clients rather than make design decisions on the fly and having to constantly redo work which slows things down.Your mileage may vary, but I would not use their services again.
