After evaluating several companies to work with to design and build our custom retirement home my wife and I selected Harmony Homes because of their scalable process that covers everything from design to completion, their excellent communication skills and their desire to make regular site visits to see firsthand how things are progressing. In a nutshell, Harmony can oversee every task needed for a home building project. Your level of involvement is up to you.

After coming up with a concept design for our home, we worked with Harmony to modify the design as required to make the home perfect for us. Once construction started, Harmony made it easy to tweak things as the build progressed to make the end result even better. We were pleased that Harmony selects specific contractors and suppliers that they know will do an excellent job. Follow on contractors often complimented the work of previous contractors. This made a big difference in quality of the build.

Our build, similar to most, required dealing with the City for permits and inspections, a wide variety of Contractors, a Geo Survey Engineer but also with our Strata that has their own set of requirements. Harmony Project Manager Gary Carpendale dealt professionally and in a timely manner with everyone involved across the build process and kept us updated, typically daily.

The end result is that my wife and I now have a home that not only checks all of the boxes, and much more, on our retirement home wish list but exceeds our expectations and is also appreciated by family and friends. In a recent email from my wife to Gary, she summarized our feelings quite nicely - “Thank you again, for giving us such a lovely house. We wake up everyday with tremendous gratitude.”

Working with and Harmony Homes and Gary Carpendale (Manager of Special Projects) was an extremely positive experience. We found the entire team to be very knowledgeable, professional and easy to work with. Frankly, we loved working with Gary. He always went out of his way to provide information, solve a problem or just provide a constant flow of information. Interestingly, building a house is so much about communication. We always felt Gary and Harmony Homes were just a phone call or an email away. Always helpful, always knowledgeable and most importantly very willing to keep us involved and informed.
