The salesman David Pipkin was and is very knowledgeable and helpful. He laid out what UBH doesn’t do from the beginning such as flooring and appliances. He has set up appointments for us. I hope the rest of the process goes as smooth.
We started working with David out of the Conroe office (he now works in League City). He did a great job explaining how everything works and got the ball rolling with us. We did have to transfer to the Bryan office for the official build but he was the one who started everything and gave us a very positive vibe to move forward with UBH.
Guys if you need financing with UBH, give Austin Freeman’s office a call. While discussing some of my challenges, he already had my plans for my house up reviewing. One call to Tim- straight to Austin who sent an email to everyone asap! I can’t even say enough about their partner Ms. Cecilia at Heart Wood! What an awesome team, I should have called them sooner!GP
BEWARE! I signed a contract with UBH over a year ago, so they could build me my dream home. One mistake after another has caused failed inspections and delayed the build several times. Up until they hired new staff I wouldn’t hear from them unless I called for an update. The foundation took over six months to be built, made and approved. Now, I am paying my current rental and a mortgage payment because a the year payment free period is over. It has been over a year since I signed. Still no house, and they’re making it very clear they’re only building what’s on paper and not what was agreed on with a design team who is no longer working there so the mistakes they made I have to live with in my forever home…Electrical outlets when I paid for a change to Gas, Top to bottom cracks on the back porch beams, brown countertops in a white and black kitchen, no driveway included so I cannot pass the final inspection of the house to be able to refinance for a better rate… one good thing I can say is they very politely and politically correctly tell me No and proceed to do what is filled out on paper. So DBL AND TRIPLE CHECK paperwork before signing. It’s a long term 30 year commitment for me so do NOT take it lightly like I did.. do NOT get so excited that you miss the details.
I am very glad that I chose UBH to build my home. Even though the entire process was tedious, they were with me every step of the way. I was efficiently informed of any issue that arose and was assured, they would be resolved. The entire staff, at the I45 North location in Houston TX, Dan Sotelo, Elizabeth, and especially Bob Hawthorne the Construction project supervisor, are very professional, courteous, and honest. I felt like a very a valuable customer during the entire process. I totally recommend anyone who is interested in building a home to consider UNITED BUILT HOMES, you can not go wrong. Again thanks to the company and entire Staff for an outstanding job in building my new home!
