Recent reviews note mixed experiences. Positive comments mention helpful sales staff and guidance during the purchase process. Critical feedback highlights concerns about follow-up on warranty items, scheduling of repairs, and workmanship issues such as stucco, HVAC, and finish details. Prospective buyers often suggest careful inspections and clear communication on post-closing service.
As others have mentioned the houses look nice at first but we have had a number of issues.- Studs are not consistently spaced (e.g. 16" on center) making it frustrating to hang anything and makes us wonder where else they cut corners.- The stucco started cracking on window ledges and along the foundation less than 2 years in.- Our cheap garage door (which we had to pay separately to get an opener for) broke less than 4 years in.- Our HVAC was placed on an improperly fitted duct (as assessed by 2 independent HVAC repair technicians), resulting in leaks when it rains and $3k+ out of pocket to fix, also less than 4 years in. This was a problem with the original build, not something we could have fixed ourselves or prevented ourselves. This builder does not stand by their work. The warranty department recently switched from answering the phone to only taking claims online, maybe to streamline the rejection process and avoid talking to their customers.Avoid this builder if you have other options!
Jina was super helpful with the new home process. Super sweet lady and very insightful with things to look out for to take of your new home especially prepping for the seasons/weather changes. Anything you need done or fixed email her and she will get that taken care of. Gifted us with Edwards Homes chocolate goodie basket. YUM!!
I purchased a home through Edwards Oct 2024. They didn’t fix the majority of the items on the initial inspection. Throughout the past year I’ve sent 5 emails to the warranty department that went unanswered. I had the house re-inspected on Oct 2 and learned that many of the items that were identified on the initial inspection that were never fixed. This past week I was scheduled for maintenance and no one showed. Today a plumber came to fix the stoppers and that is all. There are roof issues, the sliding glass door is not aligned, etc. It is all in the reinspection. I’ve called, sent texts, emails. I just want Edwards to honor their warranty for a $365K house, they didn’t mind taking the money for. Eduardo Fernandez is impossible to reach. The homeowner shouldn’t have to send numerous requests, when the findings should’ve been taken care of the first time. Unacceptable customer service, craftsmanship, and warranty response. Paul Foster had “great plans” for Campo Del Sol but it appears that these builders are taking advantage of the people. It also looks like I am not the only person that is being taken advantage of with deceptive practices.
Subject: Seeking Help – Edwards Homes Refusing to Honor Repairs on New HomeI purchased my home from Edwards Homes less than two years ago because of their reputation for building quality “dream homes.” Unfortunately, my experience has been far from that.Since moving in, I’ve had ongoing HVAC problems. Edwards Homes originally agreed to repair the HVAC system and replace the ductwork—closing the old ducts and installing new ones. My walls are in poor condition, and my garage sides have started cracking. The previous warranty representative had acknowledged these issues and agreed to have them fixed. However, the new warranty employee, Gina, recently informed me that my warranty has expired and that no further repairs will be done. I’ve already forwarded her the documentation showing that the prior warranty representative had approved the pending repairs, but she still refuses to honor them.I now feel at a loss—with a damaged home and an unresolved HVAC issue. Has anyone else experienced similar problems with Edwards Homes? Any guidance or next steps to help get my home back to the condition it was sold in would be greatly appreciated.Thank you for any advice or support.
I am a first-time home buyer and Edward's was by far the worst experience. I am referring to their home building skills and customer service. The roof would not stop leaking after paying for the city inspection. The windows are not properly sealed, but according to one of their representatives I need to learn how to use windows. All the light bulbs keep going out too, but according to the builder, light bulbs are meant to go out. I purchased the home August of 2022, and my light bulbs keep going out. The concrete outside is crooked, and wood is popping out of it, there's cracks and missing pieces. These pictures are not half of the repairs needed. Just a little insight on how a brand new home looks and feels like she's old, used, and abused.
