Recent reviews are mixed. Positive notes mention personable sales staff and a straightforward building process for some buyers. Critical themes include concerns about workmanship, communication after closing, and difficulty getting warranty or punch-list items resolved. Prospective buyers often advise close document review and detailed inspections at each stage.
Wish I could give 0 starsClearview Homes has been an absolute travesty. From the moment we moved in, they have been impossible to deal with. Even during construction, getting anything addressed felt like pulling teeth. When serious issues arose, nothing happened unless legal action was threatened. The quality of work is horrific. We already have cracks in our basement walls, and our furnace was installed incorrectly. Our windows won’t even open due to poor installation and foundational issues. The floors were installed incorrectly. Our dishwasher was installed so poorly that its drain caused mold—we had to remove it, clean it out ourselves, and ultimately throw it away. Light switches were installed incorrectly, and our doorwall hasn’t opened properly for years. These are just some of the problems. When Clearview did respond, they simply pushed us off to subcontractors who almost always refused to help—warranty or not. To make matters worse, they deliberately waited until the very last moment to perform our one-year warranty repairs. When we reported that the work was still unacceptable, they told us it was “past the one-year mark” and refused to fix anything further. We’ve spoken with many other homeowners who have experienced the same issues, so this is not an isolated case. Clearview is unprofessional, produces extremely poor-quality homes, and appears to rely on delay tactics and misleading behavior until warranties expire. This company is horrific. Their business practices are unacceptable. I would strongly advise anyone considering building with Clearview Homes to look elsewhere.
I would give them no stars if possible. The one star is how good they are at ripping you off. This is my $425,000 condo. Brand new. Moved in a year ago. And this is after they “fixed” the tiles. They also didn’t tell us there was a roof assessment for $7,500 on each of the two brand new condos we just paid $900,000 for. That’s an additional $15,000!
We felt completely duped. Overall our building process wasnt as bad of an experience as several of our neighbors but we had many issues due to lack of care or attention in the building process arise after we moved in. Our basement window was left sloppy with mortar that wont come off and we were told at our one year inspection they wont fix it. Our window has a broken seal Clearview wont help with the cost of the labor although it was broken since the build and their warranty only covers the part (be sure to check EVERY detail with them!). Clearview does not do right by the customer, even when building a half million+ home - once they have your money the customer service is gone. Our neighborhood has been left with several issues unresolved and the first phase is a mess they left still unresolved. Clearview refuses to answer for where our HOA money is going they are still in ownership of and the HOA company they left in charge doesnt provide details. "Clearview quality" is a running joke in the neighborhood because they do the least amount possible just to check a box and everyone gets different answers from their team. If youre going to spend $500k+ on a home hire someone else, if it wasnt for our neighbors we wish we never gave them our money.
I purchased a home from Clearview Homes. The team is very easy to work with and I love the my home. I did find several issues that shouldn’t have passed inspection. They should definitely monitor their business partners. My interior steps and exterior doors need to replaced due poor workmanship. I have to pay out of pocket for someone else’s error. I could not reach anyone at the Clearview office. Customer Service after you purchase a home is awful. Please pay close attention to the steps and doors if you buying a home from this builder.
We built our home with Clearview Homes due to their reputation and quality workmanship. That was the easiest and best decision that we could have made. Clearview Homes is a top-notch company, that far exceeded our expectations. Everyone at Clearview was personable and professional. Each one of them were committed to making the building process as easy as possible. We have been in our home for over a year now and have had no issues. Thank you Clearview Homes for our "Home Sweet Home".
