Recent reviews mention positive experiences with sales agents who were responsive and helpful during selections and the build process. Some buyers report smooth timelines and clear communication from sales and design teams. Critical reviews cite inconsistent communication after contract, delays in responses from construction staff, and disagreements over issue resolution. Overall feedback reflects a mix of strong sales support and variable post-contract follow-through.
It was a great experience from start to closing date. Michelle Erickson was absolutely amazing. She met with us numerous times and lead the pathway to a new home. She is an outstanding saleswoman. I highly recommend Rockford Homes to anyone.
I just purchased one of their homes and I'm yet to feel the home however, my review will be based on my dealing with them. I will advise that you deal with this builder with all your antenna intact. It might be important to have an attorney read through the contract thoroughly because this builder is very inconsistent. They talk out of both sides of their mouth to get you to commit and they never keep their words. Even in a down market when other builders were going out of their way to ensure the buyer got the best, they were very difficult to work with. The only thing that kept me stuck with them was my $30k deposit which they refused to refund to me even after it was obvious they that their sales rep dropped the ball and gave the wrong information. Their sale person blamed the error on my accent (by the way I speak proper queens english) which I feel was discriminatory on their side. They are very inhuman and difficult to work with. I am yet to access the quality of their product (although with the price of the home, I got no garage door opener, no double oven etc) so their will be an update to this review. I will shop around to work with other builders before considering this builder next time, and if you choose to work with them, I will advise that you stay on your toes and ensure that all your conversation with this builder is documented and in writing, you cannot afford to be careless with them, or else, you will end up being the loser. My experience with Rockford builder was very stressful and quite unpleasant.
We had an absolutely wonderful experience building our new home with Rockford Homes! From start to finish, the entire process was smooth, professional, and far exceeded our expectations. Our sales agent, Robin Blake, was incredible throughout the entire journey. She patiently answered every question we had no matter how big or small and made sure we felt confident in every decision. Building a home can feel overwhelming at times, but Robin’s knowledge, responsiveness, and genuine care made the process exciting instead of stressful. We always felt supported and well-informed.Our Construction Manager, Troy Blevins, was equally outstanding. He kept us consistently updated on the progress of our home and clearly communicated what was happening at every stage. Because of Troy’s transparency and attention to detail, there were no surprises and no unexpected issues. We truly appreciated how proactive he was in keeping everything on track and ensuring quality workmanship. Thanks to Robin, Troy, and the entire Rockford Homes team, building our dream home was a positive and enjoyable experience. We couldn’t be happier with the final result and would highly recommend Rockford Homes to anyone looking to build a new home!
So the overall experience was good. It all started with the best sales person you can meet with "Erika Wehner". Right from the 1st meeting, she knew what all we are looking for and guided us in the right direction. Then from there onwards at each step she made sure we made the right selection (since we were new to building a home). The next steps followed with design center team also went smooth with few meeting with Marley. It took a while for getting all approvals in place but after that it was on full throttle mode. The Pilot for this was "Troy Blevins". He was very digital :) means his answerers were very short - Yes or No, whether you like it or not. We agreed and disagreed at many occasions but that's pretty normal for any project where you come with No knowledge of building and the other side is PRO. He knew what he is doing and that's what matters. Overall Troy did great job in responding and keeping the schedule on time. "Robin" on the Aster location also was very helpful, whenever we visited the Model home there. The work in its entirely is done by different contractor companies, so the standards may differ for each job. Some might do an exceptional job and some might be average. Rockford only manages the whole project between these parties. You as a consumer have to be on top of it and ask for best and most of the time you get it.
I would strongly suggest to NOT build with Rockford. They only care about themselves and not the customer. The sales rep, Tina Hoffman, was good in the beginning but completely left us out to dry with Zero support after we were in contract. Overall, They are greedy, not helpful and refuse to fix issues that they created.Bart, the construction manager would go weeks without responding to our questions. Even though we would have concerns he would not answer them and then they all got covered up by drywall by the time he answered.Jim Lipnos, the director of land met me on our property to discuss a transformer that had been placed 2 feet from our driveway. We were asking that they take accountability for not updating the plans and moving the transformer over 4 feet when we added a third car garage. He was rude, unapologetic and told me he will have it removed completely and give me a box of candles.Do not use this builder. There are better that will treat you with respect and courtesy you deserve.
