We chose Fischer Homes to build our first-ever home believing we were paying for a quality builder. Unfortunately, our experience has been extremely disappointing.From the beginning, we encountered constant upcharges while simultaneously seeing clear cost-cutting throughout the build. What we expected to be craftsmanship instead feels rushed and poorly executed.Some of the issues we’ve experienced include:- Fire alarms randomly going off on multiple occasions- Kitchen cabinets literally falling off the wall- Siding that rattles loudly in the wind due to improper installation- Poor drip edge and gutter installation causing water runoff issues- Closets throughout the home that are not flush or plumb- Inadequate insulation- Windows that leak badlyFor the amount of money we paid, these problems are unacceptable.Yes, the house is still standing and technically meets our basic needs — but that is not what you expect when building a brand-new home with a “reputable” builder. We believed we were investing in quality, durability, and attention to detail. Instead, we’ve been left questioning where craftsmanship has gone.If you’re considering Fischer Homes, I strongly encourage you to do extensive research and inspect everything closely. This has been a frustrating experience, especially for what should have been an exciting milestone as first-time homeowners.
