We spent a lot of time meeting with around 10 custom and semi-custom builders, and we’re so glad we found Elk Ridge Custom Homes. We just completed Phase 1 of designing our custom home, which included designing the house, getting all of the plans through engineering, picking out our finishes, and finalizing the budget. Designing every detail about our dream home with Phil was so much fun. He has an incredible eye for design, beauty, and functionality. He listens to you and remembers your priorities, your wish list, and your style and creates an incredible and unique design from it. He really has a talent for design and thinks of everything. Phil and Jason have years of experience in all of the home building trades and the overall process, so they have been able to answer every question and smoothly guide us through our first time building a custom home. Josiah has a great eye for interior design and makes the finish selection process easy by working with you to understand your style and taste and then researching and bringing you a down-selected list of choices to save you time. When building a custom home with limitless options, without Josiah, you could spend months just trying to pick your light fixtures. The Elk Ridge team used their vast experience, attention to detail, and general good taste to help refine our build to fit our budget without sacrificing any of our priorities. We just had the distinct pleasure of working with Elk Ridge Custom Homes in the design and construction of our dream home in Colorado Springs. Initially, we had a different architect put together the plans and started interviewing builders in the area. What became clear right away was the passion, expertise, and relatability of the Elk Ridge team. While other builders seemed to just see the build in terms of dollar signs, Phil had a clear vision and was able to take and tweak the initial plans to be even better than we could have imagined. With the value engineering and redesign of the blueprints, we were able to remain within our budget, even with rising construction costs and inflation. What Phil, Jason, Gabe and the team built us was a modern and sophisticated, magazine worthy dream home. Months into a frustrating and disappointing search for a home builder, my husband and I were delighted to find Elk Ridge Custom Homes. We were impressed from our very first lively meeting and we are still wildly grateful for having contracted Phil and Jason to build our retirement home. After living in our home for more than a year, we still wake up every morning, happy, comfortable and confident that our house will outlast the extreme elements of mountain living.Phil and Jason had the technical strengths and experience to understand the demands of and build the details of our architect’s meticulous and carefully-engineered plans. Our own ideas were given respect and attention during planning meetings. The interior finishes reflect their high standards as well. Each room in the home has unique and delightful special details.Building a custom home is never a process for the faint of heart; the real world inevitably has setbacks and unforeseen problems. Phil and Jason communicated these issues in a timely way and were transparent during the whole building adventure. All problems were resolved to our complete satisfaction.
