We built a custom home with Oakley Homebuilders – and this review is intended to give future clients an honest and fair assessment of our experience. We contracted for a 10-month build on November 20th, 2020. We made it clear that our #1 priority was our timeline - as we were moving across the country - and we needed to be in our new home before school started in August of 2022. We gave Oakley a 20-month window. Demolition of the existing home started on November 12th, 2021. We finally moved in on October 28th, 2022, which did not meet our timeline goal. Granted, this all occurred during Covid, which led to some unforeseen challenges for everyone involved. We are happy with the finished product – but getting to the finish line was an emotionally draining experience. Communication breakdowns occurred throughout the entire project – which took the joy out of building a new home. We’ve built one other custom home – and fully renovated a second home – both of which occurred before working with Oakley. Neither of those projects encountered the constant level of miscommunications and frustrations what we experienced working with the Oakley team. In the end, the finished product is beautiful, and the punch-list items continue to get addressed. But, all things considered, we would not build with them again on any future projects.
