Welcome Home! We chose Icon Building Group after discovering one of their beautiful communities and diligently researching the company. We started the process with Icon’s owner, Charlie Murphy, who is incredibly responsive and attentive to his clients - personally taking us to visit multiple homes in progress as we worked with their architect and designers to make our vision come to life.Charlie and Jenny (Charlie’s business and life partner) have created a company that is client focused, one that is all about providing a stream lined approach to the new home building process. One where a highly polished project management system allows the clients to partner with the company in all aspects of the build. From the moment we signed our contract, we were assigned a personalized team to include the President of New Construction (Joe A.), Project Manager (Mike P.), Design Consultant (Kara), Cabinet Design Consultant (Natalia) and Permits/Accounting Coordinator (Shawna). Each of these individuals are standouts in their field and walked with us through every part of the process. We were never treated as a number to Icon, but as valued members of the team working to create our new home from the ground up.We moved into our new custom built house in February 2026, almost exactly ten months after Icon broke ground; absolutely incredible in an industry famous for delays. Icon’s owners and staff truly made the home building process as seamless as possible; always taking the time to listen, address our questions and concerns, and provide mutually agreed upon solutions. We felt supported throughout the process and always valued as clients.Finally… our house is gorgeous! We walked into Icon Building Group with big ideas for a custom Japandi style house (Scandinavian meets Japanese) and they made our dreams come to fruition. Kara consistently had creative design ideas to produce the look we wanted while keeping within budget; she has beautiful taste and the ability to tailor ideas to individual client styles. With Joe at the helm as President of New Construction, we made it through the process of building our custom home with so few hiccups and so little stress that it seems unparalleled in the industry. We are grateful to the entire Icon team for all of their attention to detail. We couldn’t be happier with the quality of our new home and our overall experience with Icon Building Group.
We moved into our home in November 2025 and were very pleased with both the final build and the overall experience. Kara, our designer, was extremely organized and diligent, and always offered helpful opinions. Our build went extremely smoothly thanks to Scott and Joe. It is evident that Icon selected very high quality subcontractors, and we are truly thrilled with both the appearance and the quality of our home. Finally, Icon was sensitive to our personal circumstances and was very supportive of us as new parents as we went through the process. Thanks to Charlie and the whole Icon team!
Can’t say enough what a positive experience we had working with Ryan Muehling & team on home remodeling projects. As our project manager, Ryan worked with us to understand our needs, goals, and budget and helped us bring our vision to life.We’re incredibly pleased with the work quality - all of the subs Ryan chose were fantastic - and miraculously we were able to accomplish what we wanted while coming in under budget and staying on time. After many, many years of watching HGTV and gathering ideas of what we would like in our dream home, we were finally in a position to purchase. We looked for a long time and found Deerpath Farm. The combination of the wooded nature conservancy and the close proximity to the highway as well as so many stores and restaurants just outside the quiet neighborhood sealed the deal. The ICON team - Charlie, Mark, Joe, Mike (and the trades people) - were all nice to work with. Builders Trend was a great way to stay informed about the house building process. It was exciting to see photos whenever a new step was completed. After closing, we appreciated the warranty period. Sandy has been very responsive to get the issues fixed that every new home is bound to have. All in all - the process went smoothly, and the house turned out BEAUTIFULLY. The neighborhood is so peaceful and gorgeous with all the trees. We love how each house has its own private space and the circular street means no loud through traffic. We are also delighted by all the wildlife that visits. We are very happy we landed here and get to spend the rest of our lives in a beautiful, functional home where we can age in place and enjoy the stunning natural surroundings.
