I recently bought a home at one of Truman’s properties and so satisfied with the transaction from start to end. The property has been handed over within the specified timelines and cant wait to movenin. Thank you team!
I had a great experience purchasing my home with Truman. The overall design really stood out. The team was professional, and organized throughout the process, which made what can be a stressful experience feel smooth. My questions and concerns were addressed clearly, and I felt supported from before I made my purchase.
This review has been edited. This reflects my experience as a member of a community that Truman Homes has built in. I contacted the company to raise concerns and did not initially receive a response. I later contacted them regarding a different concern and did receive a reply; however, I did not receive a response to my follow-up question. Based on these interactions, I was dissatisfied with the communication and response time.
I have heard consistent concerns from multiple buyers who purchased from this builder, and I want to share the themes that came up so future buyers can make informed decisions.Several buyers said their completed properties appraised far below the original purchase price, sometimes by a significant margin. A number of people said they were from out of province and later felt the pricing did not match the local market. Some also mentioned that their agreements included non-disclosure clauses, which made them reluctant to speak publicly about their experience. Because of that, the lack of negative reviews may not reflect the full picture.A few buyers shared that the low appraisals made financing difficult and that they had to turn to higher cost lenders. Others felt the builder was unwilling to work toward mutually supportive solutions when issues arose and instead experienced legal pressure. Some also described early incentives, such as rental guarantees, being changed or cancelled.I cannot personally verify each individual situation, but the consistency of these concerns raises red flags for me. If you are considering a purchase, I strongly suggest adding a clause that the final sale price must be within a reasonable percentage of the completed appraisal. If a builder is unwilling to include that, it may be important to question why.My goal with this review is simply to pass along the concerns I’ve repeatedly heard so future buyers can ask informed questions and protect themselves.
Terrible experience. We were interested in some quick possession homes and we contacted their local sales. The lady wanted us to call her, which we did. She then said she was busy and wanted us to reach by email. We sent her our preferred time for viewing and no replies since. Maybe that is how Truman sells a house- giving potential customer zero attention.
