We absolutely love our new custom home built by Southernwood Builders! While there were a few bumps along the way—as with any major project—Michael and Max were always on top of things, making sure every issue was resolved to our satisfaction. Their consistent and clear communication kept us informed throughout every phase of the build, which made the process so much smoother.We were on a tight deadline toward the end, and Max went above and beyond to ensure we moved in right on schedule. As an independent home inspector, I have inspected new homes built by most of the builders in NE Georgia. Most builders in general are good, but here’s what makes Southernwood Homes stand out in the industry - their attention to detail. Of the hundreds of homes I’ve inspected over the years, Southernwood Homes’ are consistently built to a higher standard that’s unparalleled - period! Obviously every contractor is held to that standard, overseen by their site manager Max. Attention to detail is not always the norm in the industry. Love our new custom home! Southernwood homes really made my vision come to life! ??Our finish manager Max communicated well with us and addressed any issues we had. It was an exciting and stressful process, but worth it in the end.
We can’t say enough good about Southernwood Homes. From our countless planning lists, phone conversations, followed by meetings with “just one more question”, and Dustin’s patience culling thru our lists of questions … to the actual build. SWH’s team is comprised of skilled & professional experts and even more patience. Now we are enjoying our beautiful, very well built, dream home. Our new neighbors had nothing but praise for the built site — “one of the neatest & cleanest of all builds in this neighborhood”.Of course, with all builds there are a few hiccups along the way but SWH handled everything with ease. Finished a bit ahead of schedule & were diligent to finish some of the open items we’ve had post-close.Picking a builder is a task in itself but we SWH did not disappoint.Our two recommendations would be to include a 3-D design in the drawing process (I am a visual person & flat drawings don’t always help me); and, if a radon fan is needed, not to place it above the master bedroom.On a side note, friends are building in a nearby neighborhood, not only hearing about issues they’ve had with their builder & super but watching the build itself, solidifies that we picked the right builder & makes us appreciate SWH’s expertise & attention to detail in building our beautiful home even more.We would use SWH again (altho unlikely we’ll build again since we built our forever dream home) but most definitely would recommend the SWH team: Dustin, Marguerite, Adam, Jeffrey and, of course, Nathan’s expert design-eye.You can’t go wrong with Southernwood Homes.
